Welcome to Crafty Bird!

Since I was child, I have always had a healthy curiosity when it comes to arts and crafts. As I grew, that curiosity often developed into full on deep dives into different mediums and projects. While I was active as a child, I wasn't athletic, and would have loved an opportunity to go to a camp that spoke my language. Because there wasn't anything available, I was left to my own imagnation. Sometimes, mass amounts of creativity came out of foraging for my own supplies. And sometimes, frustrations grew as I longed for direction from someone who knew what they were doing to give me a little guidance on basic tips and how-tos of different art and craft concepts.

Coming out of the pandemic, I observed and talked to a lot of people who struggle with how to be at home, how to be alone, and how to hone in on creative outlets. When I teach during the day, I see so much of that kid in me needing a place to go and create, to express myself and learn new ways of doing things. After a little research, I found that there still aren't many places where these things can happen for kids outside of their school day or adults who are looking for a break from thier everyday responsiblities. And so the plan started swirling and Crafty Bird was established.

We want to bring creativity to life and instill in the love of creation. Art isn't just about being able to draw something fancier than a stick figure. It is about representation and expression. At Crafty Bird, we will introduce a variety of different mediums and give you a chance to explore what type of art speaks to your soul. You will develop skills to expand on your passions and create your own masterpieces.

Always creating,
